“I can do a great color, but if you’re not taking care of it at home, it can look like a bad color.”Megan Hudgin
Start with your water
Hard water and mineral buildup are a common cause of brassiness. A shower filter helps, and it doesn’t have to be expensive.
“Most of them on Amazon are not bad if you’re on a budget.”Megan Hudgin
Three habits between washes
- Oil on your ends at night. You wake up with shiny hair.
- A boar bristle brush. It moves your scalp’s natural oils down to the ends, so you get less grease at the root and more hydration at the ends.
- Dry shampoo on a fresh blowout, on dry hair. It buys you an extra day or two.
Tell me what you use
At every color consultation I ask about your products and your heat tools, and about your water at home. Care at home matters as much as the color itself.
When to come in for a gloss
A gloss freshens your tone or adds shine between color appointments. It starts at $120 on my menu and you can book it online.
Build the color to last
Lived-in color is placed so it grows out softly, without a hard line at the root. It is built to go longer between appointments.
Wearing blonde extensions? They dry out the fastest. Keep them moisturized with oils, a leave-in and a mask now and then.
